Article:
How To Become A Teen Model
Becoming a teen model requires much discipline
and determination these days, with the high amounts of potential
and aspiring models the market has become flooded. So how does this
affect you the potential new teen model. Adversely of course, the
way any market works and modeling works the same way as any traditional
free market enterprise is by the laws of supply and demand. If you
have a under supply of models (infant, baby, preteen, teen or adult)
and a high demand for models of course your odds of becoming a successful
model are in your favor. But the realism is the market is flooded
and this means in order to get that potential modeling position
(magazine, runway, fitness, glamour or swimsuit) you must be better
and more committed than everyone else.
Training - Having some kind of formal modeling
training can be a real plus, modeling casting agents usually give
preference to models with more training or skills. So if you are
able to get some type of modeling school in it could really help
you in the long run. Now you don't have to go out and spend thousands
of dollars on the modeling training a simple runway course for a
few hundred will do with a reputable modeling school.
Portfolio - Having a well made and organized
portfolio is best thing you can have. The portfolio should consist
of pictures (Head Shots, Full Body Shots) the pictures should be
taken with a variety of clothing (Sportswear, Casual, Formal) and
in a few different settings or terrains. This will help the modeling
or talent agent see your looks from all different perspectives.
Your portfolio should also consist of a resume of your schooling,
modeling and academic. A list of all work you have done in the modeling
industry and any talent shows, beauty pageants, acting (movies,
commercials) or plays you have done in school or outside of school.
If you speak more than one language let this also be known. Your
resume also should have a few short lines written about yourself
regarding your aspirations hopes and dreams in modeling and (entertainment
field).
Determination- becoming a model is one of the
hardest things to do. The entertainment industry may seem very glamorous,
but it is really a hard cold world to work in. People are very cruel
and callus they may tell you things about yourself you may not want
to hear it does not mean that they are all true. So keeping a hard
skin and taking losses as learning experiences are the way to go.
Remember the only one that can make your dreams come true is you.
